Privacy Policy

Trexpense (“App”) is an app for managing and analyzing travel expenses and is developed by Stefan Galler (“I”, “we”, " us").

The protection of personal data is very important to me. For this reason, user data is processed with the utmost care in accordance with applicable law (GDPR). This document serves to provide information on the most important aspects regarding the use and storage of data in the app and third-party providers used.

Trexpense

In the basic version of the app (without activation and use of Trexpense Cloud), all data is only stored locally on the device.

Backups

The app contains a function for creating backup copies of locally stored data. The user is free to choose where this backup copy is saved. The user must inform themselves separately about the data protection provisions of the selected storage location. We assume no responsibility for this.

Trexpense Cloud

If the user activates the Trexpense Cloud functionality of the app, it is possible to save data online. It can be decided separately for each trip whether the data should be stored locally or online.

Firebase is used to store and manage the online data. More on this in the section “Third-party providers”.

In order to assign the online data to a user, it is necessary to create a user account (“account”). The user’s e-mail address and name are stored for this purpose.

The user can delete their account at any time within the app. All data assigned to the account will be deleted.

Error analysis

In order to be able to rectify errors as quickly as possible, error information is logged. This information is initially only stored locally on the device.

If the user agrees to the processing, they can be forwarded to a third-party provider (“Crashlytics”) for analysis. More detailed information about the processed data can be found in the “Third-party providers” section.

User statistics

For the further development of the app, it is helpful to create evaluations about the use of the app. For example, functionalities that are not found can be highlighted and the operation of the app can be adapted to the user’s wishes.

Usage statistics are only collected with the user’s consent. A third-party provider is used for analysis and processing (“Google Analytics for Firebase”). More detailed information about the processed data can be found in the " Third-party providers" section.

Third-party providers

In order to provide the functions of the app, the following third-party services are used.
